01 · The problem

Lip products get lost, constantly.

The problem I kept hitting is small and extremely common: women's clothing often has no usable pockets. A lip product ends up at the bottom of a bag, in a coat you are not wearing, or left behind somewhere — so you buy another one, and then another.

Alongside that, I wanted to understand what is actually in the products people put on their lips every day, and to be able to explain every ingredient in plain language rather than marketing copy.

02 · The product concept

A refillable lip product you wear.

The concept is a refillable lip product in a wearable form — a bracelet or charm — so it travels on something you already carry instead of something you can put down. It is meant to combine four things: beauty, convenience, fashion, and a satisfying click you can fidget with.

Current stage: product development. There is no working prototype, no finished formula, and nothing for sale. What exists is the concept, the design direction, renderings, and research into how it could be made.

03 · Brand & packaging

Building the brand before the product.

I developed the brand concepts and packaging designs, and used AI tools for product renderings and CAD-related design exploration — which let me see and test ideas quickly without a studio or an industrial design budget.

The brand position I landed on is plain-English honesty about ingredients, in a voice that still has personality.

04 · Website & marketing

What I built myself.

The whole of savageskincare.com, including the online store. I set up automated marketing and the email signup, wrote the blog content and FAQs, and organised how the whole site reads so a first-time visitor understands the brand quickly.

This is the part of the work that turned into a service — everything I learned doing it for my own company is what I now do for other people.

05 · Manufacturing research

Finding out how it would actually get made.

I researched manufacturers, product samples, sourcing and production options, and spoke with a manufacturer about a lip product. I travelled to New Jersey to meet a skincare consultant and a manufacturer in person.

I also pitched the business to an investor — which forced me to get specific about costs, positioning and what the next twelve months would actually require.

06 · Where it is now

Live website, product still in development.

The LLC is registered and the website and store are live. The wearable lip product is still in development: the next steps are getting to a physical prototype, settling the formula with a manufacturer, and confirming what it costs to produce at a realistic first run.

I am deliberately not claiming more than that. There is no finished product yet.
